Fuelio is a mobile app for drivers that works as a digital vehicle logbook: fill-ups, mileage, expenses, service and trips in one place. The product shows the real cost of owning a car, including fuel, insurance, parking, road tolls and maintenance, and over time it became part of the Sygic ecosystem. For users, it matters that the app is at hand every day and does not depend on a stable internet connection.

Challenges

Vehicle data is usually scattered: fuel receipts, service records, calendar reminders. The task was to bring it together in a convenient everyday tool that calculates, analyzes and sends reminders on its own, rather than just storing fill-up records.

The audience: private car owners, high-mileage drivers, owners of several cars, as well as taxi and courier services and small fleets that need basic mileage and expense control.

Solution

Vehicle dashboard. A vehicle switcher, current mileage, nearby gas stations with average fuel prices, and quick access to the main sections.
Fill-up and expense log. The app automatically calculates the distance between fill-ups, fuel consumption and cost per mile, correctly handles partial fill-ups and pulls in weather data. The expense log breaks payments down by category, and a chronological feed shows the vehicle’s entire history by month.
Reminders by date and mileage. Oil changes, insurance, regular service, with a progress bar showing how much is left until the next event.
Statistics and GPS trips. Separate tabs for fill-ups, expenses and mileage, budgets, and the best and worst fuel prices. Trips are recorded in the background: the route on a map, distance, time, average and top speed, and a speed chart.
Offline mode and backups. All data is stored locally, so the app works on the highway or in a parking garage without a connection, and the history syncs with Google Drive or Dropbox. We also built a promo website for the product with a feature overview, reviews and a gallery.
